"You Can Draw!"

"You Can Draw!" (available early February 1997) is the first in a series of products that teach basic art skills (not art history, nor an art gallery). In a fun and supportive environment it teaches the skills a person needs to be able to sketch and draw real life and everyday objects and gives the tools to draw the images in your imagination. We package this product with a small art pad and art pencils to give a very positive out-of-the-box experience. "Everything you need to start today!"

Enter a graphically dazzling 3D art studio in which you are greeted by a friendly teacher. Six different subject-matters are taught which include: Gesture and Expression, Line, Shape, Value, Volume, and Perspective. One may enter a Media and Materials closet for interactive exploration and an informative overview of different materials used by artists. There is extensive use of interactivity, animation, music, voice, and video.

Each subject area contains three sections: Techniques, Portfolio, and Exercises. The Technique sections provide the subject lessons where the user interactively explores artistic methodology and techniques. This section uses examples of masters and their work and shows how their styles of drawing were achieved through animation, photography, voice, and video. The art student may practice the drawing techniques with the animated Exercises or with objects seen in everyday life. The Portfolio sections contain biographies of master artisans, including samples of their work and how their style of drawing pertains to that particular subject lesson.

"Pre-Algebra -- Number Sense"

Number Sense meets the latest National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards.

"Pre-Algebra -- Number Sense" provides a unique learning experience. "Pre-Algebra – Number Sense!" is the first title in a planned algebra series that starts with the 6th grade. The target age range for this product is 10 to 13 or grades 5 to 8. This product covers place value, number systems, scientific notation, rounding, estimation, ordering, factoring, prime numbers, LCF, GCM, fractions, ratios, and percentages.

The "Pre-Algebra" product is entirely 3D rendered in a cartoonish/realistic style and is fun and easy to use. A colorful guide takes then through-out the program and provides hints and instructions for interactivities. The theme of this title is exploring places that are subjects. Some examples include: the user builds a rainbow over a lake as they learn to factor; shop to learn about place value; visit an observatory to learn about powers of 10 and scientific notation; they visit an archeological dig to learn about prime numbers with Eratosthenes’ sieve; a basket ball court for rounding and estimating; and a factoring factory. The product contains extensive animations, interactivity, voice, fun music, sound effects, and videos. Exercises are incorporated in the lessons in an interactive game format. The user enters their name and a score is kept based on going through the lessons, activity and the exercise games. Their score is converted into time they can spend in the arcade, which contains fun interactive activities especially designed for the age group. This will be an additional encouragement for doing the lessons and exercises. All lessons and exercises are designed to be fun and colorful, as well as being integrated with interactive interesting materials and activities. The software contains lessons that use creative, animated and engaging illustrations and real world applications. Number Sense builds many bridges from math to science, history, and real world phenomena.

The CD-ROM is appropriate for 5th to 8th grade math. Go to "Pre-Algebra -- Number Sense" for a detailed outline of topics covered and activities.
